August 23 – 25, 2018 had a fun filled session with NID Gandhinagar and NID Paldi faculty and students, teaching a module on Design management for the Transportation Design students and loads of talking about design and related scenarios with the faculty.

The Baatein team Vijay  at Gandhinagar invited for the session to address the students. It was a surprise by Tejus Nagdev to prepare a mindmap of the session. It was a lovely gesture – to look at at what you have given from their perspective.

The NID Gandhinagar architecture with exposed concrete – made me fall in love with the geometrical patterns popping out and showing its presence as design elements where ever you go in the campus.

Represented as

• Curved surfaces on the auditorium
• Triangular surfaces on the display hall
• The roof pattern on the patio with irregular – cutouts – forming a pattern
• Wide staircases with smaller staircases as the handle
• Different levels of spaces

Had a long session with Prof.Pradyumna Vyas and Krishna Patel discussing about design in Indian scenario. Visited Praveen Nahar – Professor at NID and my senior from IIT Delhi at the Paldi campus. He took me on a tour of the entire campus – good to see charged up students practicing design.

Thanks to Rengarajan Balaji – heading transportation design and S Guruprasad heading the Strategic management design program for inviting me to NID. A memorable experience.
